W3: Setting up a start-up company
The ESR will be given an overview about the problems and perspectives of setting up a company, starting from an idea which can be patented, including the search for financial support, the set-up of a sensible project plan and business management.
W5: From Science to Industry
Industrial partner formulates a challenging, real-life R&D problem containing both technological and societal aspects. The ESR will be teamed up in groups of about five students and each group is expected to find creative, out-of-the-box solutions for the problem. Experts from industry and academia will be available for consulting. On the last day of the workshop each group will present their solution to the problem.
